1) Barcelona

Barcelona is another highly visited city in Spain. Sometimes, many tourists even prefer to visit Barcelona instead of the capital itself, due to the good reputation the city has. Barcelona is especially known for its football team, Barça, and also for the dozens of monuments and buildings made by Gaudí. Barcelona is located in the province of Catalonia and is the largest European metropolis on the Mediterranean coast.

2) Zaragoza

The city of Zaragoza appears in several travel itineraries, mainly because it has a strategic location. To give you an idea, it is possible to access it in 3 hour trips departing from the main cities of Spain: Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. As if that wasn’t enough, Zaragoza has very important and interesting sights, such as Plaza del Pilar, Palacio de La Aljafería, Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pilar and Puente de Piedra.

3) San Sebastian

San Sebastian is one of the most amazing cities in Spain, especially for tourists looking for history and beautiful beaches. Among the destination’s biggest attractions are Playa de La Concha and Playa de La Zurriola, popular with surfers. Once in the city, be sure to visit the San Telmo Museum and the San Sebástian Cathedral, as well as the Plaza de la Constitución and the La Bexta Market.

4) Bilbao

If you want to discover the most famous museums in Spain, without a doubt, Bilbao should already be on your list. It is in this city, located in the north of the country, that the Guggenheim Museum is located, one of the most prominent complexes in all of Europe. Other attractions in Bilbao are: Gran Via, Casilda Iturrizar Park and Puente de Vizcaya. For football lovers, it is worth noting that the city also has a very nice guided tour of the San Memés Stadium.

5) Santiago de Compostela

6) Salamanca

The city is north of Spain and close to Portugal. It is one of the richest Spanish cities in monuments from the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Its two universities, the Universidad de Salamanca and the Universidad Pontificia stand out worldwide and give life to the city. Between the two universities, there is an average of 32,000 students enrolled, who come from all parts of Spain and many other European countries, through Erasmus.

7) Avila

Another very interesting destination is Ávila, a city located about 1 hour from Madrid. Bathed by the Adaja River, this city is considered a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site, due to its historical monuments that are still preserved, such as the wall that surrounds Ávila. To give you an idea, the construction dates back to the 11th century, and this is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the city and that cannot be left out of your tour of Ávila.

8) Madrid

The city of Madrid is one of the best known and most visited, perhaps because it is the capital of Spain. The city has many interesting sights, a wide variety of museums, parks, churches and many squares with important historical symbols for the city and the country. Among the tourist attractions, the Plaza Cibeles, the Parque del Retiro, the Plaza Mayor and many more stand out.

9) Segovia

Segovia is usually a popular destination for tourists who are in Madrid and want to visit the nearby cities since the distance between the two destinations is 90km. It is worth noting that it is even possible to carry out a tour, where it is already possible to discover the main attractions of Segovia. Undoubtedly, one of the most striking points in this city is the conservation of monuments dating from the Roman period.

10) Toledo

11) Valencia
